Hi families!
We had a great first week! What a wonderful class we have. I am excited for our school year, together! As you are getting ready for our time together, I wanted to take this opportunity to let all of you know a little bit about myself, personally and professionally, so that we can begin to know each other.
This is my third year at Cedar Lane, and my fifteenth year teaching. Throughout my career, I have had eleven years as a classroom teacher (eight in first grade), and four as a Reading Specialist. As you will find out, I love being with young students and fostering a love of reading and of learning. I have a Bachelors in Early Childhood Education from the University of Vermont, a Masters in Elementary Education from Boston College, and Reading Specialist Certification from the University of Kansas. I have lots of roles in the building, including PTA Teacher Liason, Professional Learning Community Leader, a member of the Student Assistance Team, and I have been on several district wide committees about Literacy. When I am not teaching, I spend my time with my husband Ben and two sons, Jack who is five and Nick who is three. I look forward to getting to know you and your child this year!
As the school year progresses, our class website will continue to grow. Once every family has returned their Consent Form for photography, I will begin to include more and more pictures of your children.
